Where can you download the Grim Trials Demo?
The Grim Trials Demo is available as a free Steam download from the official Demo store page. The collected Steam data lists it as a single-player Action, Adventure and RPG Demo released on July 23, 2025. It supports Steam Achievements, full controller support and DualSense support.
The Demo is the safest way to test the game’s core loop before buying the full release. It does not establish the full game’s final content, complete achievement list or every platform feature. Use it to learn combat and crafting, then treat any missing system as 待确认 rather than proof that the full game lacks it.
What can you play in the Demo?
The official Demo description says it teaches the basics of soul-reaping in the first biome. That area contains simple but hard-hitting enemies, one powerful boss fight and a couple of sidequests. The sidequests grant recipes for new weapons, armor and potions, so the Demo includes more than a combat-only tutorial.
The Demo also presents the wider systems in abbreviated form: hex-grid arenas, scythes, crossbows, Blessings, crafting, equipment, the Skill Tree and the Academy. The store text says experience and materials stay with Avelin after a fall, allowing repeated runs. The exact Demo limits on recipes, Skill Tree nodes, Blessings and story interactions are 待确认.
Can the Demo help you decide whether to buy?
Yes, it can answer the most important early questions: whether the dual-weapon combat feels comfortable, whether the run-based room structure is enjoyable and whether crafting and repeated attempts appeal to you. The Demo lets you test the first biome, a boss and sidequest rewards without paying for the Demo itself. It does not provide a complete view of later bosses, the full Academy story or the final endgame.
An early preview found that the Scythe and Axe behaved differently in speed, targeting, area of damage and knockback. That comparison comes from an early build and should be treated as an observation rather than a final balance statement. The released game’s complete weapon roster and balance are 待确认.
What did the final Demo update change?
The official Steam Community announcement describes a final Demo update released on August 17. It added gamepad and keyboard remapping through the Controls panel in the Pause Menu or Settings menu. It also expanded Demo localization with French, Italian, German, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish.
The same update fixed keyboard UI quality-of-life issues, a possible biome-generation soft lock, enemy loot drop rate and UI knowledge, floating damage-text layering, secondary-weapon manual aim and a Blessing projectile interaction. Those notes explain the captured Demo state, but later changes are 待确认.
Does the Demo have achievements?
Yes. The Steam Demo page lists Steam Achievements. The research also reports a separate 29-achievement Xbox list for the full game, but the Demo achievement scope cannot be substituted for that list. Keep Demo achievements and full-release Xbox achievements as separate records.
